Big Bird and Barney

Big Bird and Barney got into a fight

Barney jabbed with his left and then with his right.

Big Bird countered quickly with a swift kick to the knee

Throwing sand in Barney’s eyes so he could hardly see.

Barney flailed blindly, swinging a punch far too low.

Now two octaves higher was Big Bird’s odd crow.

They rolled from the play-yard, out into the street,

And on Barney’s bulbous head Big Bird did beat.

Unlike his TV persona, purple Barney is not meek,

As he ripped birdy’s eyes out and cut-off his beak.
